EVFC FIREFIGHTER RECEIVES AWARD

EVFC oldest firefighter and Everson Borough's oldest councilman, John Szolek, received an award for his years of service as a councilman. John has served on borough council in Everson since 1959, 12 consecutive 4-year terms. John decided earlier this year that this year would be his last on council, choosing to retire at the end of his term. At the November meeting of borough council, Everson Borough council presented John with a gold clock for his years of dedicated service. In addition to the clock, John received letters of recognition from PA Governor Ed Rendell and President Bush. EVFC and the residents of Everson Borough thank you John for your service to the community and hope that you enjoy your retirement.
